NOIVAS: The Voice Contestant Embracing Tragedy, Connection, and Dramatic Performances
In the much-anticipated season 23 of The Voice, a unique twist awaits as America prepares to cast its first ballots in the Semi-Finals. With so many talented artists running for office, determining the favorites remains difficult until the nation’s verdict is revealed.
In the midst of this gripping storyline, one standout artist shined: Team Blake Shelton’s NOIVAS. Hailing from Hutto, Texas, the 30-year-old singer-songwriter caught the attention of all four coaches with a remarkable four-seat swing, even though Blake himself was stopped by Chance the Rapper. Since then, the four coaches have all been strong supporters of the voice winner NOIVAS.
When Chance became the coach of NOIVAS, a surprising change occurred on the final night of the Fight Round when Chance chose another contestant, Ray Uriel, to take his place. However, fate intervened when Blake seized the opportunity to steal NOIVAS, reuniting him with the coach he was meant to stick with, despite initial perceptions of an unusual pairing.
In a candid Zoom interview with Parade, NOIVAS dismissed any notion of odd articulation. “We’re really not a weird couple,” he revealed. “Most people would think so, but we actually have a lot in common. We both went through the tragedy of losing a brother, and we ended up connecting more behind the scenes, even during the blind auditions. I got to sing an original song that I wrote for my brother, which I sang at his funeral, and that’s where we really connected.”

Being part of the voice the Blake team can give NOIVAS a significant advantage. Blake has an impressive track record of nine wins and a loyal following, which often translates into votes for his team. However, NOIVAS remains focused on delivering a stellar performance tonight, aiming to win the American vote based on their performance.
“Honestly, this time around I’m trying to learn a little bit about both [things] from what I’ve been doing,” NOIVAS said. Reflecting on his blind audition, he stressed the importance of showing passion and emotion in his song. For the upcoming performance, he wants to combine his emotional depth with his directing skills. “I’m combining a bit of both of these periods, where I can show the emotion, the drama and also really deliver a great performance.”
While keeping her song choice secret, NOIVAS tries to hint at an upcoming performance. “It’s going to be a very impressive song because it’s a James Bond song, and it’s very contemporary.”

Win or lose, The Voice has given NOIVAS invaluable confidence to pursue her music career. After a substantial six-year hiatus from performing, his perspective changed when he became a father. “We’ve learned a lot and grown a lot through this process,” he said. “Honestly, the best thing for me overall is just being authentic,” he added, realizing he could move forward on his musical journey instead of giving up. Reflecting on his own parenting, he wonders: “You know what? I would feel bad if my daughters gave up on their dreams, so why am I doing this?
The Voice WInner NOIVAS’ compelling story of personal connection, resilience, and artistic maturity resonated as he reached the semi-finals of The Voice. As the whole country voted, the stage was set for NOIVAS to once again captivate the audience, leaving an indelible mark on their musical perfection.
